  1. Found an abandoned young golden retriever at rest stop 35 eastbound on i-40 Saturday 9/24. We gave her food and water but she would not leave with us. We called several rescue and humane society places plus Pope County police animal services but NO ONE would come out to save this precious pup. Shameful. I wish we had been able to physically able to put her in our vehicle.

  2. The I-40 rest area at the 199 mile marker is a disgrace with the porta potties at this recently upgraded area. Reminiscent of “outhouses” of years past.

  3. Wish some of your rest areas were open. We can spread out more at a rest area than a Love’s…if your reason is Covid. Plus we are free to GO as we please in the good old USA.

  4. Traveling through Arkansas on hwy 40 & all the rest areas are closed. That is the stupidest thing ever. Some would be ok but all? Makes me not want to come back

    • I found out how dangerous they are, a man followed me on interstate 40 and I stopped at a rest area not realizing he had followed me in. He came in the bathroom when I was thankfully already in stall, he went back out and waited on me by the door. I still had no clue, I just looked at him and when I started to get in my car he was following me. I got in my car and called my daughter, talked for 16 min. and the whole time he was in his car watching me. When I backed out, he backed out. That’s when it dawned on me we were the only one’s there. It is just a miracle I’m alive. By this time I’m watching him in rearview mirror and when I pulled back onto interstate he passed me and never even looked at me. I got lucky, but I’ve often wondered if maybe someone else wasn’t quite so lucky that day.
