I’ve traveled nearly all freeways in California, from top to bottom. I found NOT ONE rest area open. Thanks to the Democrats in Sacramento, the rest areas are closed because of two reasons: (1) They don’t want to pay for upkeep, and (2) to discourage homeless occupation and illegal imigrants from utilizing them.
Exit 51 rest stop is closed to the public now. 7-11-2021
According to the CalTrans website, it appears this closure is temporary.
It would be helpful if you could set this up to interface with Google Maps
