Curious if there are any rest areas on I81 S in PA or VA with dog areas..like a park or just fenced area to run?
The rest areas indicate a pet area is available but I do not know if the areas are fenced in. You might try contacting each state’s Department of Transportation office for an official answer. Other users of this website may know and post a comment, too.
Hello. We are getting ready to go on a trip to Alabama and its a 18 hour drive. We will be towing a camper. Are trucks with campers allowed to pull in just like the big trucks after driving so long and take a nap? Last year we had a truck camper and a man made us move out.He was not even official. Thank you.
Yes, you will often see signs directing RVs and trucks to a parking area separate from automobiles. Typically, there are designated parking spaces for RVs and trucks but you’ll still need to look at the parking rules. Some rest areas will allow overnight parking while others may place a time limit. Time limits are not strictly enforced generally unless abuse has occurred or for other possible reasons.
Thank you. I am grateful for your reply. We will be going soon and want to plan ahead since it is a long drive,
Stopped in Grantville (southbound) rest area. Clean, modern and well maintained. Absolute best part was the fenced in, off- leash dog area!! My pup was able to run a bit and expell some pent up energy. Every rest stop should have a fenced in area like that! 5
What year was Pa rest stop in Newville built on North bound lane
Please contact Pennsylvania’s Department of Transportation office for an official response.
