Rest Areas
Below is a list of rest areas along Interstate 80 in Wyoming. Rest areas are listed from east to west. Eastbound travelers read up the page; westbound travelers read down the page.
Exit 401 – Pine Bluffs

Exit 267 – Elk Mountain

- Welcome Center
Evanston Welcome Center is not a good place if you have dogs. It needs a larger pet area and grass would be nice.
Evanston I-80 MM 6 Bear River Welcome Center has entrance driveway closed due to construction. Follow detour signs as you utilize the former exit drive to reach the Visitor Center and restrooms. Longer RV drivers may find this challenging. This is a “No Semi Tractor Trailer”rest area.
Wyoming Exit 144 has a burgeoning prairie dog town near the picnic shelters. Fun watching for all ages!
Sinclair exit 228 is now fully open.

Rest area on WB I80 at no 323 – womens restroom so bad all toilets nasty used my own porta potty instead- whoever is supposed to clean hasn’t been in there in ages!
Elk Mountain rest area has enough mosquitoes to carry off a person right now! We sat down at a dirty picnic table (and I emphasis dirty) to eat and could not finish our meal. We had to grab our food and get back in the truck.
How do I find the safest Rest areas and places to sleep when RV’ing from Colorado to Northern Cali along 80?
As of June 15, 2020, the rest area at Exit 228 is permanently closed.
Wyoming…you cannot have two rest areas closed in a row. Too difficult on travelers!!
