Rest Area on 79

The rest area's on I-79 in Bridgeport are both closed north and south, have been for several months

Rest Area on 79

The rest area in Morgantown has been closed for well over a year. The two rest areas at 85 have also been closed for over a year. That leaves a stretch of I-79 of over 100 miles without an open rest area.

Rest Area Closures

In response to my email inquiry regarding rest area closures, the WV DOT stated they have "implemented a program to demolish the current rest area/welcome center facilities statewide and construct new buildings." According to the DOT all rest areas are now open except the Welcome Center on I-70 at mile marker 13. No information about when this will reopen was provided.

I64 Welcome Center @ White Sulphur Springs

This rest area is closed and has been closed for some time. If they are building new rest areas why not leave open the ones they have until they statr comsturction.

Closures

Does anyone know if they are still open? I took a trip in may and 85 was open but i've heard that it's closed since.

the PA/WV state line rest

the PA/WV state line rest stop SB 79 is open

rest stop-white sulphur springs

It has been quite disappointing for visitors coming into wv from va side that are used to stopping at this stop for a break. Now having to get off the highway is not a welcome to them. It takes more time away from the drive; it is not always friendly, and it has been a stop that has been part of the anticipated trip for years. Please bring this rest area back.

rest area in falling waters
