  1. The Chamberlain rest area is in my top 5 for any I’ve seen. And I’ve been to 45 states. Spent over an hour there, at a rest stop!

  2. need more current information on rest areas for Truckers. my son’s gps showed rest areas/
Pilot truck stops that werent there. on limited travel time/ restrictions it’s very important to have this information current otherwise it makes truckers park on roadsides that aren’t
safe for them or other traffic.
    no name, concerned mother

    • There are apps designed specifically for truck drivers. Apps that will show available parking spaces and the like. No app, website, or GPS device will be 100% correct all of the time. I have found errors, for example, in data provided directly from the popular truck stop chains. Errors like incorrect GPS coordinates for one.

This website is not designed specifically for truck drivers. In fact, it’s focus is rest areas with bathroom facilities. There are many truck-only rest areas that don’t have bathrooms and are, therefore, not included on this website.

  3. The rest areas are mostly located near small towns where you can find gas and a convenience store. Plan ahead for when you will need other amenities, including groceries, auto parts or a pharmacy. Expect that all stores, including gas stations, will close at 7pm or earlier. That is not always the case, but often is. Sioux Falls, the largest city in SD, does not have any 24 hour businesses, including gas, groceries, pharmacy or Walmart.

  4. Re I-90 what amenities do the rest areas have? Bathrooms? Food? Gas?
Or do you have to exit to get food and gas?
    Thank you

    • Amenities will vary by rest area but all listed here have bathrooms. Gas and food service is typically only available at toll highway service plazas. Otherwise you’ll need to exit the Interstate highway to locate these services.
